Citizens Against Light Pollution is comprised of a small group of students from George Mason University who became interested in the topic while attending a “Mysteries of Migration” class with Dr. Thomas Wood. What began as a simple research paper blossomed into a full blown passion for reducing light pollution.
Feeling like well-informed social citizens, we were shocked to discover how little we knew about this massive environmental issue and the impacts that it has on entire ecosystems. Based on our own personal ignorance, we concluded that public awareness must increase in order to reduce or even bring an end to unnecessary and harmful light pollution. This conclusion led us to the creation of this webpage in an effort to increase public awareness.
